We are sad to see the season come to such a quick ending, but very happy with how much each player improved over the course of the season. We finished 6th in the league, and were selected by Svedala for the first round of SM-playoffs. This season we also took part in the newly formed Oresund Liga that featured teams from Denmark and Sweden in an international cross-over competition. This tournament gave us a chance to compete against a different style of volleyball, which helped us better prepare for elitserien opponents.
Season highlights included winning Knallecupen preseason tournament for the first time in 18 years, a four-set victory over Svedala in Gisle Sportcenter, and season sweeps over elitserien opponents RIG Falköping and Sollentuna, as well as Oresund Liga foe Amager (DEN).

A trio of foreign pros contributed greatly to the team’s successes, combining for 364 kills, 67 service aces and 45 blocks.
Finnish spiker Hanna Salomäki led the team with 165 kills and 31 service aces, totaling 211 points on the season. She was one our most consistent defenders throughout the year and, along with libero Jessica Lakatos, led the serve receive unit to a 57% reception efficiency.

American setter Meghan Sherman, finished second on the team in total blocks (20) and service aces (19), setting up the team to a 21% attack efficiency. The Netherland’s Ester de Vries proved to be one of the top attackers in elitserien, but suffered a season-ending injury in late January, finishing the year with 184 total points.

Lisa Tannerfalk had one of the best individual season performances, making her mark both defensively and offensively. The middle blocker became a force at the net, with a hitting efficiency over 42% in six matches this season. Defensively, she was the top blocker on the team with 31 total blocks, ranking in the elitserien’s top-10 blockers, and third on the team with 88 kills.

Mathilda Carlsson was our breakthrough player of the season, finishing fourth on the team with 106 points in her first season as a starter. She ranked in the top-five in the team with 78 kills, 16 service aces, and 12 blocks.

This season saw Ebba Ekblad step into the starting six after joining GVK after Christmas from Värnamo VBA, where she competed with their Division 2 team. In only 36 sets, she accumulated 52 kills, 9 aces, and 3 blocks, and earned a spot in the national team that will compete at the u19 European Championship qualifier in Rovijn, Croatia 31 March - 3 April.
With six players making their elitserien debut, and four players earning their first spot in the starting six, we are confident that this group will continue their development towards becoming one of the elitserien’s top teams. We thank our sponsors and all who supported our team throughout the year.
