Saturday afternoon, visiting elitserien rival Lindesberg handed out defeat 0-3 by scores of 12-25, 19-25, and 22-25.
Despite injuries forcing a few line-up changes, we battled hard, as Mathilda Carlsson and Ebba Ekblad lead the way offensively with 7 kills each. Our focus on tough serves gave us a chance to defend, but Lindesberg's smart attackers mixed in placement shots with powerful swings to keep us guessing. Middle blocker Lisa Tannerfalk had her hand on 2 blocks, adding to our team's total 5 blocks. The day's match also saw the promising comeback of Lina Johansson who earned the team's only service ace.

Entering Sunday's Öresundliga match against Denmark's Holte IK, we focused on using this as a chance to train against a fast-tempo offense while developing some of our younger players. Holte took a commanding victory in the opening set, 10-25. After increasing our service pressure and mixing up our offense in the second set, we were unable to continue through to the end, falling 20-25. Out of the break, it was all Holte again, finishing the match off with a final set score of 10-25.
Sofie Bäck made some incredible defensive saves in the libero position, and Elin Andersson worked hard to spread the offense and give our attackers a chance against Holte's big blockers. Mathilda Carlsson again paved the way for our hitters, knocking down 8 kills, with Ebba Ekblad and Ida Lindbäck adding 4 each.
Despite the loss, we have seen much improvement in individual players that will carry through into the playoffs this March.
